It's Gratitude Month, Subscribers!Today I am reminded just how grateful I can be in the face of adversity. I had to be a strong mediator between my website design / business coaching client and her former website designer scam artist (he had the benefit of the doubt until he proved to be not just ignorant but purposefully malicious).
It was difficult, the controlling scammer losing her business got louder and more agitated - the more he realized he was caught. I was really afraid she would have to take him to court to get control over the domains she (over)paid for.
As it turns out, his righteous indignation gave way to him wising up and starting the process of transferring the domains to her control - as they should have been from the start. Upon reading the news that my client finally can take control of her business and get things done, I danced around a little bit.
Why am I grateful about all that?
- Helping someone naive about all things internet become more empowered and savvy.
- Not letting a scam artist get away with it.
- Being a strong woman, rather than a shrinking violet.
- Likely gaining the trust of a kind businessperson - for life.
- The good karma / vibes / mojo - created by helping someone who needed a champion.
- The ability to help the business owner do in a matter of two months what she had been waiting almost a year for.
- I also acquired a new client, besides her.
In the United States, we celebrate Thanksgiving, later this month. I wonder if fellow Americans, and International readers alike, will share in a month of gratitude.
