Just returned from a dry kayaking trip in the area of my article below:
Touring Gifford Pinchot National Forest
A route outlining seven major sites in the Gifford Pinchot National Forest from Woodland to Carson, Washington. A very popular loop among local residents, motorcyclists, mountain bikers, watersport enthusiasts, hikers, and visitors. Highly recommended!

Swift Reservoir was the emptiest I've ever seen it. It will be filled for Memorial weekend. As a result, we didn't kayak, but we visited the other sights in the area.
As a bonus, an outfitter in the Columbia Gorge, (Stevenson, Washington) was letting people tryout surf skis and outriggers. What a treat! And a new experience.
