June 1 2008 Canadian Culture Newsletter

Hello,

This is your weekly update from the Canadian Culture page at BellaOnline. My name is Melanie Hachey and I am the new editor. You can learn a little bit more about me here.

This week's article is a review of the Barenaked Ladies' new CD, Snack Time, a collection of 24 songs for kids. It has a great combination of silly, fun songs that will delight children; but that are set to music adults won't hate.

Visit the Canadian Culture Forum to share any comments, questions, or thoughts about Canada, its people, and its culture.

This Week's Canadian Fun Fact

Did you know that the Barenaked Ladies have been making music together for 15 years? You can watch them perform Raisins from their new kids' album Snack Time, and their hit song One Week from their album Stunt here.

What's Up Canuck? Your Weekly Canadian Trivia Question

Last Week's Question & Answer:

Canada BeachWhere is Canada's best beach?

Canada has many beautiful beaches. So many that it's impossible to narrow them down to just one "best beach". There are, however, a few that stand out. According to CAA (Canadian Automobile Association) magazine, Canada's top beaches are:
Lawrencetown Beach, Nova Scotia
Basin Head Provincial Park, Prince Edward Island
Kellys Beach, New Brunswick
Iles de la Madeleine, Quebec
Sandbanks Provincial Park, Ontario
Grand Beach Provincial Park, Manitoba
Good Spirit Lake Provincial Park, Saskatchewan
Sylvan Lake, Alberta
Long Beach, British Columbia

This Week's Question

What are the top five languages spoken in Canada, based on the number of people who speak them?

Look for your answer next week.

Do you have feedback or questions for me? I'd love to hear from you. You can either start a topic in the forum or simply respond to this email.

I look forward to exploring Canadian Culture with you.
