Let the sun shine in! We have been reporting record high temperatures all over. Time to use this free source of energy!
The new article is up The Power of the Sun
The sun is an unlimited source of free energy, letīs use it!
Tip of the Week:
You can use the power of the sun to sterilize your soil. Till your garden bed and remove all rocks and clumps. Water the bed until it is thorougly wet. Cover the bed with a sheet of 2 to 4 mil clear plastic. Anchor it down around the edges with rocks or stakes. Leave it for 6 weeks during the hottest times of summer (or the year, depending on where you live). Remove the plastic and don't forget to add compost to renourish your soil - to replace the good stuff that may have burned with the bad stuff.
Did you know?:
Another reason to invest in solar: Electric hot water heaters are home's largest energy user!
Quote of the Week:
"Never discourage anyone who continually makes progress, no matter how slow."
-Plato
Word of the Week:
Solar Gain: noun - the amount of heat in a building derived from solar radiation through windows or transparent walls.
Don't forget your sunscreen! I've heard of applying sunscreen on the outside; but now there's a supplement you can take to protect you from the inside out! It's called HelioCare. (americarx.com)
