Hybrid Macaw Right or Wrong?

The glorious macaw their habitat disappearing at an alarming rate; and many macaws are now extinct. Imagine the beautiful, rare, blue macaw, one being the extinct Spix's macaw. Do we have a right to cross breed macaws resulting in hybrids? Within this article is an example of a Catalina; a hybrid.
