August 22 2008 Formula One Newsletter

Hi everyone,

Welcome to another F1 newsletter, catching up with the news from the last few weeks, and a recap of some recent articles on the BellaOnline site.
In the news:

• The three week break means news has been quite light recently, with most teams and drivers working towards learning the new Valencia street circuit. There have been some concerns that the Valencia circuit will be difficult to manage from a safety aspect, especially as there is no room to recover vehicles from the bridge.
• BMW released the findings from their investigation into the KERS incident from last month. They’ve concluded that it wasn’t seriously dangerous but that amendments need to be made to their technology before they will begin testing again.
• The rumours of Formula 1 being allowed in the Olympics look to be slightly exaggerated. The race would have to be more like A1GP, with a standard chassis, and the nations offering a driver to take part. However, the Olympics doesn’t allow sports that rely on technology to power them, so it seems unlikely we’ll get a London Grand Prix in 2012.
