January 22 2012 German Culture NewsletterTHE BROTHERS GRIMM Once upon a time there were two very dissimilar brothers, whose combined talents produced European folk and fairy tales which were anything but sweet and gentle bedtime stories, instead they portrayed life as generations of central Europeans knew it, unpredictable and often cruel. Although, when they realised that many of those who read their books, or had the tales read to them, were children, they did 'tidy' their stories up a bit. Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm, the subjects of this weeks article from the German Culture site at BellaOnline.com http://www.bellaonline.com/articles/art174882.asp germanculture.bellaonline.com covers many different German Culture topics, and it has a forum: http://forums.bellaonline.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=postlist&Board=247 I hope you let me know, either in the forum or via email, if you have any comments, questions or ideas for topics you would like covering.
