It was 125 years ago that the first 'Vehicle Powered by a Gas Engine', the automobile, became a patented invention, unfortunately that did not translate into 'sales', and the inventor, Carl Benz, thought about giving up on his dream.

However Bertha Benz believed in her husband and his vision of a ‘Horseless Carriage’, and she made the first ever long distance journey, sixty miles through Baden, Germany, with a vehicle powered by an internal combustion engine. The modern automobile was born.
