German Fact-of-the-Week
The German Parliament or Bundestag is the most visited parliament in the world, with approximately 3 million visitors a year. The Bundestag resides in the Reichstag building, which was the home of the Parliament of the German Empire and the Wiemar Republic from 1894 to 1933, when the interior of the building was destroyed by fire. The Parliament of a reunified Germany moved from Bonn back to Berlin, into the remodeled Reichstag building, in 1999.
