Am beginning to think Summer here for this year was one morning two weeks ago, but nevertheless we are still trying to keep the 'warm weather' season alive, in our thoughts at least, with parasols to keep out the rain and summery drinks. And here are the recipes for a few of Germany's most popular.


GERMAN SUMMER DRINKS RECIPES

Quenching the thirst with something a little more exciting than mineral water during a German summer is easy, because from Fruit Punch to Radler and Apfelschorle the Germans have many refreshing and fun drinks which they love to sip in the sun.

And the word this week is ZUCKERSCHNECKE, which is something that the French like to eat with garlic butter but in Germany is a form of endearment, such as "Darling" or "Sweetheart".

Although this probably wouldn't be a use which would first spring to mind in the English speaking world as it is a "Sugar Snail".
