I am hoping spring sticks around here in Southern California. Last week we had a power outage from a wild wind storm, so we stayed at a Super 8 Motel not far from here that was not affected by the outage.

I saw something on the news about getting some assistance from the DWP if your refrigerator was out for several hours, but I cannot find that data at their website. I do know that my renters insurance with Allstate reimburses for lost items in your refrigerator and freezer during a power outage. I was going to figure that out last time we had one and never did. This is something anyone who goes without power for several days should look into and get reimbursed for.
