October 24 2012 Marriage Newsletter

Even the best marriages can succumb to life's challenges. I wasn't the only one to be surprised when longtime married Hollywood couple Danny Devito and Rhea Perlman announced their separation. Although Mr. Devito is a tad past the midlife point, I couldn't help but wonder if a fear of aging caused him to engage in uncharacteristic behaviors like allegedly flirting with younger women, as was reported. We never know what goes on in the privacy of a couple's own home nor is it any of our business, but my sincere sympathies go out to these two lovely people. The demise of a marriage is sad. I wish both of them well.

Readers enjoyed chiming in about last week's article that asked how they felt about marriage vows and Alzheimer's. This week, the marriage test is about midlife crisis.

Here's the latest article from the Marriage site at BellaOnline.com.

Midlife Crisis and Marriage
Fear of getting old triggered a midlife crisis. A new motorcycle was one thing, but a new girlfriend? What do you think? Should this marriage be saved?
