July 5 2007 Native American Newsletter

I hope everyone had a safe and wonderful 4th of July! It heralded the start of the monsoon season here in New Mexico, so we enjoyed the evening listening to the Thunder Beings rumble, lightning flashing across the sky, a soft female rain falling, and fireworks in the distance. And, of course, dancing in the rain! I hope your day was as full of wonder as was mine.

Here is the article I promised about the Summer Solstice activities at Chaco Canyon. You can read it at the Native American site at BellaOnline.com:

Chaco Canyon and the Cellicion Zuni Dancers
I recently attended the Summer Solstice celebrations at Chaco Culture National Historic Park, where I enjoyed the dancing and music of Fernando Cellicion and the Cellicion Zuni Dancers. Join me as I tell you about this very special day...
