December 7 2008 New York Newsletter

Hi There!

My name is Megan Romer, and I'm the new New York editor at BellaOnline.com. I currently live in Ithaca (smack in the middle of the state), and I've got friends and family throughout the state, including some close family who live in New York City, where I visit frequently. I love art, music, the outdoors, and great food and wine, so you can expect information about all of these things and more from this newsletter and the New York site, which I'm working on revamping as we speak. So let's get started! Check out one of my first articles:

How to Dress Like a Local in New York City
New York City is one of the world's most popular tourist destinations, but often, tourists who "look like tourists" are looked down on by locals and sometimes even targeted by pickpockets and thieves. Making an effort to blend in will make your New York experience better and safer.

... and finally, for your New York quotation of the week:

“The present in New York is so powerful that the past is lost.” - John Jay Chapman.

Have fun passing this message along to family and friends, because we all love free knowledge!
