February is National Heart Awareness month and February is National Wear Red Day to acknowledge heart disease in women. Women can have very different symptoms than men and heart disease is the number one killer in women. That is more than all cancers combined !
Please take the time this month to educate yourselves, women, and men in the symptoms, prevention, and treatment of heart disease.
I have found a great way to help myself take care of my heart and health. There are several great apps to download on your cell phone. I have calorie counters, exercise, and best low fat and low calorie foods and restaurant apps downloaded. I also have a heart rate app that measures your heart rate while putting your index finger over the lens of your camera on your cell phone.
Best of all they were free and I show them to my friends and family. It has been a fun way to teach those I love some great ways to help take care of themselves.
Please remember to wear red on February 4th in honor of women and heart disease awareness.
