February 5 2006 Photography Newsletter

It's February already! :) I can't believe that we're already in the second month of the year, when it seems like we were just celebrating the holidays. I've been keeping up with my new year's resolutions (better diet and exercising) but the lot of us have been sick for weeks... a few days ago I had to call 911 for an ambulance for my husband, who was in really rough shape, and suspected of having apendicitis. So I suspect all this madness and kerfuffle is what's stealing my time :) How's *your* year been going so far? In doing research for some upcoming articles on pinhole cameras and setting up your own darkrooms, I came across this absolutely fascinating and wonderful site called "Scanner Photography". It's a showcase of an interesting mix of low- and high-tech methods, and the resulting photographs are intriguing. Scanners As Cameras -- Innovative Technology Ever thought of making a pinhole camera? How about making a home-grown digital camera? Photographer and artist, Mike Golembewski, displays pictures he's taken with his new, innovative technology using low-tech cardboard, tape, and a cheap scanner. http://www.bellaonline.com/articles/art40233.asp/zzz ******Have you experimented with technology to create your photographs? Please let me know, and I'll feature the most innovative methods in an upcoming article for the Photography column.****** I hope you're enjoying our new and improved forums! :) They are faster than ever and more accessible. Please let me know if you experience any difficulties or have any concerns. Here's the URL to drop by: http://forums.bellaonline.com/postlist.php?Cat=0&Board=228 Hope you're enjoying your weekend! ~ Michelle Southern, Photography Editor http://photography.bellaonline.com
