September 25 2005 Photography Newsletter

Hello! :) The weather has turned cool here in Ontario, with some rain, which has hampered my outdoor photography expeditions. How about you? If it's fall where you are, have the leaves already turned? Autumn is a great time to take the family out hiking, with one of nature's best backdrops to fill your photos with colour. With the wrath of both Hurricanes taking its toll on the southern United States, I was inspired to write two articles on emergencies and photography. The first article, which I told you about in the last newsletter, was how to restore or salvage damage photographs. The latest article was published tonight: Preventing Photo Damage Two devastating hurricanes in a row have many wondering what they can do ahead of time to help prevent the loss or damage of their precious photographs and negatives. Here are some precautions you can take now, before disaster strikes. http://www.bellaonline.com/articles/art35920.asp/zzz If you missed the first article, you can find it here: Salvaging Memories: Photo Restoration When a tragedy like Hurricane Katrina occurs, we first mourn the loss of life. When the waters recede & the damage revealed we mourn the things we may never recover. Photographs are one of the first items saved in an emergency. Here's what to do if you have damaged photos that need restoration. http://www.bellaonline.com/articles/art35630.asp/zzz Feel free to drop by the Forum, sounding off on your favourite photography tricks, products, and suggestions for future articles: http://forums.bellaonline.com/postlist.php?Cat=0&Board=228 Thanks so much! I hope the start of your week has been wonderful. Michelle Southern, Photography Editor http://photography.bellaonline.com
