Special Career Tip of the Week:
If you are like most recent college graduates, some of your "references"
are the professors you had in college. If it's been a few months since
you've talked to them, take some time to contact them this week.

If you are still looking for a job, make sure you send them an update.
This should include a short summary of which employers you've contacted
recently, and perhaps the latest copy of your resume. That way, if they
get a phone call regarding a reference check, they will have a fresh
picture of you in their mind.

However, if you are one of the lucky ones who has already landed a job,
it's still a good idea to keep in touch with your references. You should
let them know that you've found a job, and then thank them for assisting
you! Who knows, you'll never know when you might need them again. A
little communication with your previous faculty goes a long way in keeping
them in your corner.
