A topic dear to each of our hearts, house rules, has just been published. I ran into a new DM months back who made his own rules despite admitting having next to no experience with the game. The latter was apparent and did not irk me, the former was not immediately apparent and was quite troublesome. Here's a quick primer on what considerations should be made, as a result. Most importantly, I can't enunciate enough to communicate with your players about it. Post it on a board, inform new entrants to the group, anything to let people know about what rules are in play.
