April 8 2009 Rubber Art Stamping Newsletter

Rubber Art Stamping Newsletter

Monthly Challenge

This month’s challenge is to take the techniques you know and use for your scrapbooking and card making and take it to the next level. You spend a lot of time and effort making beautiful stamped images that end up on a card to be enjoyed for a short time, or closed up in an album and only enjoyed from time to time. Put it front and center and make it art. This is not hard to do. It takes only a slightly different perspective of your work. It is not simply a craft project, it is art. Do not be afraid to treat it as such. The monthly challeng will appear on the site April 15th, 2009.

More Stamping Tools

There is another article on the site featuring a few more of the many tools available for crafters. This article discusses the Bind-it-all, Rock-a-Blocks, the Fiskars stamping System, and Ranger’s Distress Powders, several of which I received in my newest shipment of supplies.

Differences in Types of Markers

Have you ever wondered what the differences were between the various types of markers that are available to the consumer. The prices vary greatly and it can be difficult to decide whether a brand it worth the price or not. For a simple breakdown of the differences and similarities, read “Prismacolor v. Copic vs. LePlume Markers” .

Book Contest

Starting the first week in May, and running the entire month, I will be having a contest of which two lucky winners will receive Laura Childs new book, “Death Swatch” . The contest will consist of a questionnaire about the various aspects of rubber art stamping. In the event of a multiple winners, there will be a drawing of winning entries, so pass the word along and brush up on your stamping knowledge.
