November 22 2006 Work & Family Newsletter

Greetings Work and Family Members,

I am away this week, but wanted to reach out to wish everyone a happy Thanksgiving.

Whether you celebrate Thanksgiving or not, this time of year represents the beginning of the end of the year rush. It helps to take a minute to say thanks for what we have, who we love and who loves us, before we get caught up in the busyness of shopping, cleaning, etc. See my reasons for giving thanks.

*Happy Thanksgiving from Work & Family*
Thanksgiving, although not a religious holiday, there is no better time to give thanks for family, friends and abundance. http://www.bellaonline.com/articles/art26009.asp
Also see *Grandparents Precious Links) to Our Past for ways to stay in touch from a distance.

In case you missed it, here is the article from last week.

*Throw a Great Family Holiday Party*
Go ahead. Be brave and throw a great holiday party for your family and friends. A really great party is often a matter of the right combination of good friends, good food, relaxation and a little structure.

Visit workandfamily.bellaonline.com for more content. In addition, to participate in online discussions, the Work & Family site has a community forum. Our question this week is “What is one of your favorite things to do in winter.”

*A Lighter Moment*
Seen on a bumper sticker : -)
-My wife keeps complaining I don’t listen to her …or something like that.
-Give me ambiguity or give me something else.
-If at first you do succeed, try not to look astonished.
-If at first you don’t succeed … blame someone else and seek counseling.
-How many roads must a man travel down before he admits he is lost.

As always, feel free to send this and other Work & Family articles to family and friends.

Be careful, be safe,

Vannie Ryanes, Work & Family Editor

The family. We were a strange little band of characters trudging through life sharing diseases and toothpaste, coveting one another’s desserts, hiding shampoo, borrowing money, locking each other out of our rooms, inflicting pain and kissing to heal it in the same instant, loving, laughing, defending, and trying to figure out the common thread that bound us all together. —Erma Bombeck
