October 8 2009 Yoga Newsletter
As a new editor at BellaOnline, I have been continuing to "fine tune" my work, and would like to apologize to all of you for the errors in my first newsletter, sent out earlier this week. I've made quite a few improvements that I hope you will enjoy.
With each newsletter I'll be sending you a link to my most recent article, and also a tip/info item that you may find useful. I love writing about Yoga and how it can have a positive impact on your everyday life, and welcome feedback, questions and suggestions from any of my readers!
This week's Yoga tip:
Hand placement can create a different feeling of energy in your body. Palms down tends to bring out the "Yang" or assertive energy. Palms up creates a "Yin", or more passive feeling. This simple change in lying face-up (supine) asanas can give you a boost in either of these energy directions, depending on how you are feeling, or your stress level, at that time. Alternating between palms up/down for several seconds in each position can bring a sense of balance, or Chi, to your state of being.
