Craig W. Steele

As chocolate water trickles by
enshadowed stalks of sallow reeds,
Blue Heron sheds its heft in sky,
leaving chocolate water trickling by.
Lone bullfrog belches, bats wing high,
mosquitoes clog the air like beads
of chocolate. Water trickles by
in shadows, stalked by sallow reeds
