The Stairway by Debi Gardiner

Poetry

Banderas Bay

D. J. Cawood

like an Adonis at sleep
rises and falls
in sensual rhythm —
waves, like ripped
abdominal muscles,
flex in the sunlight.

The Sierra Madres´ blue-green
mounded slopes, draped
in a misty lavender veil,
surround him
protect him
like a mother guarding
her reckless wanton son.
