Fish Arrival by Leslie Tribolet

Poetry

Depression

Angelika Teuber

The demons of my past
Play me like a voodoo doll.
They nail me to the stake named fear
And fuel the fire of my own hell.

They claw into my being
Torment me with visions
And feed me illusions
About myself and the world.

I fight desperately against hot panic
Rising and burning up my insides -
A flame throwing dragon made of angst
Swallowing me as I come up for air!

My agony nurtures their power.
They reduce my truth to a point
Where I canīt find it anymore.
I give up and surrender to the fire.
