Open Lies

Armond Richards

River Styx is not so shallow
Upturned earth of graves we hallow
Calls the souls left in the gallows
They won´t speak our names

Shrieking beauties found carousing
In our brick and blood-soaked housing
Through our passions, they were browsing
Seeking out our games

Let the fools get lost in wonder
While we charm the lovers´ thunder
As their heartbreaks pull them under
Drowned in open lies

We´ve our truths to keep us floating
Gallant hearts to cage our gloating
Poet tongues of silvered coating
Princes in their eyes
