The Scent Of Sandalwood

A.J. Huffman

fuses my dreams to an ethereal reality.
Something eternal and earthy, a tangible
branch. Bare and budless, it cracks
the edges of two worlds. I bleed into both.
Dividing myself, I lose
my voice and my balance, wake
to an absence that echoes
louder than hurricane’s wind.
