Winter Fireworks

Craig W. Steele

Silently, like thoughts that come and go,
the snowflakes fall, each one a gem.
— William Hamilton Gibson

Resting on the shadowed land,
touched by moonlight’s glowing hand,
ice crystals sparkle in the frost —
glinting diamonds, quickly lost —
like frozen fireflies blinking fast,
reminding us of warm days past.
