Many worthy drama cannot be made family friendly because of graphic or intense scenes, sounds, language or events.
Charlie Wilson's War Review Charlie Wilson drank at ten in the morning, in king's palaces (or would have if he could have), in hot tubs, at 2 a.m. and any other time possible. He was the U.S. Congressman who, along with a woman and a rogue, made it possible for history to be rewritten in Afghanistan between 1980 and 1989. Great Film for An Election Year This film featuring Andy Griffith in the part of a bad man didn't receive the attention it deserved in 1957. It remains a powerful movie, throwing light on ways in which a wealthy elite shapes American politics by manipulating a gullible public. The Bucket List (2007) Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman pair up in a buddy movie about the end of life. The Sixth Sense (1999) If you haven't seen it yet, treat yourself. If you have seen it, watch it again and try to see how Shyamalan does it. It's also worth more than one viewing to admire the work of the amazing Haley Joel Osment who, at the age of eleven, is the mainstay of the film. The Visitor (2007) The Visitor received one Oscar nomination, but didn't enjoy the hype of Benjamin Button. It's a far better movie, and certainly more timely.
