Peace With The Past
The past is the past. Knowledge of the past is a valuable key to unlocking the treasures of the future. Often, we have to make peace with the past to go positively forward.
Childhood Roles In Our Adult Lives  Childhood experiences have a major influence on the adult you are today. In childhood your family gave you a role. Today in your adult life, believe it or not, you’re still living out that childhood role. Forgiveness  Forgiveness is about finding peace with the past and allowing yourself the joy of a positive future. It’s not always the easiest thing to do, but in the long run it can be the physically and emotionally healthy thing to do. Here are a few tips for making peace with the past. Keeping Yourself Off Balance  There are old programs playing in your mind that are so much a part of who you are and how you’re living life, you probably don’t even realize it. These programs are so familiar that even if they’re keeping you off balance, you’ve unconsciously accepted and embraced them as a way of living life. Understanding Defensive Behavior  Defensive behavior is a method many of us use to protect our self-esteem. Often, defensiveness is used to hide those parts of our personality or emotions we can’t or don’t want to expose to others. Think of defensiveness as a coping mechanism against emotional harm and pain.
