Summer Romance

Welcome back! I hope youīve all been reading. Due to real life this week, I didnīt get as much reading done as Iīd hoped. But this week will be much better for it, and Iīm looking forward to digging into the books waiting for me. And there are so many, I donīt know how Iīll choose.

How do you decide when youīve got more than one book waiting to be read? Mood? Favorite author? Luck of the draw? Something else? And, though a real summer romance has to end, the reading enjoyment we get from our romances never has to stop. Good thing!

What are some of your favorite "summer romance" romances? I never realized until this week how many of them there are, and so many here on my own bookshelves. Hm...A number of the recent ones Iīve read are Harlequin Temptations, usually with the heroine deciding sheīs going to make the most of her time with the hero, even if she believes he doesnīt want anything more permanent than a summer fling. But I do have some others, older and longer in length than the Temptations. Stop by the forum this week and let me know some of your favorite summer romances.

This week, Iīve read Splendid You
Splendid You
by Lynn Bailey (Jove Magical Love, available now). Julia Hanson is delighted that she will finally have the chance to meet her kindred spirit in all things Egypt, Dr. Simon Archer. Heīs brought the contents of the tomb of Princess An-ket back home with him and invited Julia to come visit in London during the summer. Except that Juliaīs not exactly what he was expecting. And An-ketīs spirit escapes, helping and upsetting the lives of those she comes in contact with. Simon, though, is a man of science, and he doesnīt believe Juliaīs story of meeting An-ket in the museum, or in the talents of the man called Dr. Mystery. But strange things are afoot, things he canīt ignore. While I enjoyed this story, I didnīt like it quite as much as Ms. Baileyīs last, "Magic by Daylight". However, this one still earns three and a half of Cupidīs five arrows. Let me know what you think of it.

Until you come again, why donīt you stop in the romance books forum. We have some really good discussions going on right now, and you can feel free to add your own thoughts on any of the current topics or start your own. You can also find instructions there on signing up for our newsletter, or you can email me to be added to the mailing list. Happy reading!
