AMA Women Motorcycle Conference

For those living near the West Coast, the Fifth American Motorcycle Association Women & Motorcycle Conference is scheduled in Keystone, Colorado in 2009. The date will be August 19th to the 22nd. At the fourth conference in Athens, Georgia in 2006, nearly 1,100 women were in attendance and the conference was considered the largest of its kind. The 2009 conference is expected to double that attendance number.

This motorcycle event is the premier event for women and presents a wide range of activities from seminars, panel discussions, vendors, skill courses, workshops, guided rides, live entertainment and catered meals. This event is the industry showing women that they are important in motorcycling. In fact, the American Motorcycle Council says women account for 12.6% of all riders, a 29% increase since 2003. Harley Davidson and Buell are the presenting sponsors of this huge event that celebrates women riders. The big name motorcycle manufacturers such as Harley-Davidson, BMW, Ducati, Ridley, and Yamaha, will be providing demo rides. This is going to be in a beautiful location with some of the best riding roads in the country, so save the date and shine up those bikes.

The focus is on women riders, however, spouses and partners are encouraged to come along and enjoy the beautiful roads and conference activities in Colorado. Demonstration rides from almost all the big name manufacturers, a huge vendor marketplace with all the latest gadgets and gear for riders, and lots of after hour social activities and camaraderie, plus the most beautiful riding roads in the country will make this event one to remember. Make a memory and help shape herstory!

Registration has begun and is $165.00 online or $185 on-site. The registration fee includes an event t-shirt, the opening ceremony, daily workshops, barn dance, street party, closing banquet and other related activities. This event will feature prominent women riders, racers and industry leaders. Make your reservations early so you are assured a place in the excitement.

Hope to see you there.
