If the last name doesn't tip you off, Holly is the daughter of Hank Williams, Jr. But that is where the similarities end. With a talented family tree behind her, Holly sounds a lot more like her grandfather, the legendary Hank Williams than her father. She has a smoky voice that you can picture in a honky tonk singing about lost loves and lost dreams. Every song on this first album is written by Holly.
While all 12 songs on the album are ballads, Holly's talent shines through. Mary Chapin Carpenter comes to mind when listening to the CD. This is someone who watches the world around her, takes in the experiences and let's them out thru her music.
Not following in her fathers footsteps, Holly stays away from the let's get rowdy and party songs that have made her father famous. I look forward to hearing more from this singer/songwriter in the future.
