Visiting Your Local Museum for Free

Freebies are so great! Freebies where I can have fun AND learn a thing or two are even better. I love visiting museums so I’ve compiled a list of a few free ways to visit your local museum for free.

*Bank of America’s Museums on Us Program
If you are a Bank of America account holder, take advantage for their Museums on Us program. Your Bank of America (or Merrill Lynch card) gives you free access to over 150 museums across the United States for free. The program runs year round and the eligible days are the first full weekends of each month. You will need your photo ID and Bank of America card for free. There is one free admission per cardholder. You can locate a museum near you by visiting their website,/a>. (Sidenote: some zoos also take the Bank of America card for free entry also)!

*Target’s Arts and Culture Program
Through their partnerships with educators and arts organizations, Target finances numerous free and reduced price museum entry events all over the country. When you visit
their website you can select your city to see when your free museum days are. For example, in Atlanta where I live, two different museums offer free days that are sponsored by Target. Target is really big on giving back to the community and this is just one of the ways that they give back.

*Visit your local city’s museum websites. Make a list of the museums in your city. Google each one of them and visit their website. Almost every major city museum offers a free or reduced entry day at least once a month in the summer. For example, when I go to the Children’s Museum in Atlanta’s website, I can look on their Events calendar and see that they offer free admission on certain Tuesdays of the month. A of the museums will also offer free parking as well.

These are just a few ways you can enjoy a free visit to your local museum. I hope you enjoy them!
