Right Angle Weave Heart Pouch

Right Angle Weave Heart

Items Needed
silamide
size 12 beading needle (shorter length)
324 3mm fire polished oval faceted beads
size 11 Japanese seed beads in contrast color
clasp

Make a heart following the pattern in single needle right angle weave.
It’s best to start at the widest part because it’s easier to do decreases then increases, weave back to the last square and start the next row of right angle weave from that to make a decrease.

When you get to the top of the heart, curve it off with loops of beads, following graph.

Make another heart.
Weave the two hearts together using right angle weave, this part isa little tricky and is the reason I suggested a short needle, it’s a little harder then flat right angle weave or joining right angle weave patches that are square or rectangle, but not much harder. The following diagram shows where the joining beads are in blue.

Okay, now it looks like a heart shaped bag, but because of the shape and size of the beads it’s kind of floppy, this step takes care of that.
Start horizontally weaving in the size 11's in the small gaps between the 3 mm beads, it’s easiest to start at the bottom and work up. (4 size 11's around the bottom square, 8 on the next row, and so forth)

That step makes the bag fairly stiff and it holds it’s shape reallywell, this technique also works well for making small cross pendants and other 3 dimensional shapes.
Start the strap on the center bead of one of the top loops of the heart,3 size 11's, one 3 mm, continue pattern 32 times (32 3mm), add clasp, come back down 3 size 11's, into the 3 mm, 3 size 11's until you reach the start,go in the other side of the bead you started from, tie off thread.
Repeat on other side.
