One of the core themes throughout this trilogy is the dependence on machines and this book clearly illustrates three different opinions. First are the Samerac who have no use for technology and shun all machines. On the same planet is a group looking to become more like the Federation-- beings who use technology to its fullest. And finally is a growing amount of beings that worship the Machine. There is a lot of potential in this clash, but for the most part I was disappointed by how much was glossed over. I loved seeing more of the Samerac culture and more of the cultish machine worshipers.
My Recommendation
Telefax Acclaimed by Toni Seger brings to a close The Telefax Trilogy. While I enjoyed reading this book, I still wish it went into more depth. I feel that the story could have benefited from seeing more about the resolutions to the conflicts.
