Tied With a Bow

Hello, and welcome back! I hope the holiday season craziness has still left you all with some reading time to work your way through the fresh crop of new romance releases. The holiday insanity here left next to no time for reading, and I’m looking forward to having time to sit down with my own stack of new releases to share with all of you.

This time out, I have the anthology Tied With a Bow (Berkley, purchased), with stories from Virginia Kantra, Lora Leigh, Eileen Wilks and Kimberly Frost. I bought this one solely for the Virginia Kantra story, “Upon a Midnight Clear,” which kicks things off. Aimee Blanchard was saved from a French prison one night by an angel. Now she serves as companion to her English cousin, who is on a husband hunt. Lucien has spent the years since he rescued Aimee, since he was cast from Heaven living as the bastard son of an Earl, another of the Fallen, but now the Earl expects him to find a career. Or a bride, and Aimee’s cousin might be the perfect candidate. Except he’d much rather have Aimee, whose memory of an angel may come back to haunt them both. I quite enjoyed this one, as I expected. Next up is Frost’s “First Light,” in which Kate Devane meets the perfect man. Er, archangel, that is, in Nathaniel. But his enemy wants to hurt him enough to put Kate in the middle. This one looks like it could be a good start to an interesting series. Next up is “Human Error” from Wilks, venturing back into her werewolf world with shifter Benedict going to visit his mate Arjenie’s family for the holidays. He knows he must keep his real identity and ability secret, but there are some things he might not know about his mate yet that could come back to haunt them. Finally, Leigh’s “An Inconvenient Mate” continues her “Breeds” series with Isabelle Martinez drawn to Coyote Breed Malachi, and he knows his mate when he meets her. But there are those who don’t want them to find happiness together. I know there are legions of die-hard Leigh fans who’ll love this story. For the first two stories in this one, I’m borrowing four of Cupid’s five arrows.

Until next time, happy reading!
