This time out, I have the latest from Vicky Dreiling, How to Ravish a Rake (Grand Central, received from publisher). Amy Hardwick has a perfectly fine suitor waiting at home, but she wants a man to love, who will love her in return, so she's in London for one last Season, determined to make everyone see her in a new light. She could hardly have expected that Will, aka Devil, Darcett would see her in a completely new way. Will's family has had enough of his roguish behavior and are attempting to rein him in. He and a friend come up with an alternate plan, which backfires rather spectacularly, so he comes up with another: snare Amy and her money. Only he can't. Still, when they're caught together, neither has a choice in the matter. Luckily, they discover that married life isn't as terrible as they might have imagined. Will is a rogue with secrets, as well as humorous and caring. Amy keeps a secret of her own from him, even as he breaks down the walls she's put up to keep him out, and when both secrets come out, neither will be the same. But can they find a way to move beyond their hurts and mistrust? This story is just plain fun, from start to finish. Amy is a terrific heroine, and readers will be rooting for her to get her happy ending. I wouldn't call Will a bad boy, though he tries hard to be one, which makes him all the more endearing. I'm borrowing four of Cupid's five arrows for this one.
Until next time, happy reading!
