Learning is a part of everyday life – but how about when school is out?

Check out ways to ensure brain power for school while summer is still being enjoyed. I know you think that because school is out so is the learning. Let me give you this small fact. It is proven that if children don’t continue learning while school is out - they will suffer some learning loss. The brain has to maintain some form of learning in order to continue where school left off.

Believe it or not school performance can be improved with the simple help of some household board games. Check out ways to reinforce your daughter’s brain activity while having fun. This form of learning is my favorite because it doesn’t require any walls, and it can be anywhere!

Children of all ages crave spending time with their parents (with conditions). They like the thought of quality time without having to be accountable or meeting any goals. They like the fact that they would get all of the attention. And last but not least they would have you all to themselves.
Board games promote a variety of educational skills. Skills that include language arts, math, logic, science, history and perception! All of these skills along with quality time will make for a well balanced girl when school starts.

This will also give your daughter a head-start on building on her learning skills. And not to mention, this is also a perfect way to spend time together.

Math can be encouraged through games such as Scrabble, and Sorry.

Critical thinking can be encouraged in the game of Clue.

Life skills can be learned from the game of LIFE

Negotiation, buying, selling and money management are also a few skills that can be found in the game of Monopoly.

A little bit of everything can be learned with the Trivia Pursuit game.

Make good attempts to create learning opportunities of every kind daily. Taking a walk or riding the bike can also be a great learning opportunity. You can count a particular color car while walking. Or you can talk about the many different flowers you see in the yards while riding.

Board games incorporate learning outside the classroom. What other ways can you think of that would create learning opportunities. All will make a difference in her which in turn will encourage her to make a difference in others. Thank you for being her biggest fan!
