Braided Up-Do For Long Hair

Women who have long hair have a hard time creating an up-do. When you have long hair it tends to be heavy and the weight of it will pull down any style. To create an up-do on long hair the trick is to pull the hair back into a low position, on the base of the neck. This way it doesn't have far to fall. Here is a very simple up-do that women with long hair can do.

Before starting any up-do it is necessary to prepare the hair first. The best time to create and up-do is on the day you do not wash your hair because it has some natural oils built up and will not slip as easy.

The items that you will need are bobby pins, a comb, a brush, hairspray, and rubber bands.

First, If you wish to have some height on top then take the hair at the crown of the head and lift it up.

Next, backcomb or tease the section to create the height.

Then, drop that section and smooth out the top layer of hair.

Brush the rest of the hair so that it is flowing down your back and separate it into three sections. One section directly on the back of the head and one on each side of that one. At this point the only rubber band that you use is on the middle ponytail.

You should now have one low ponytail on the back of your head and a section of hair on each side that is not secured.

The next step is to take the ponytail and braid it down the back and secure the end with another rubber band.

Then, braid the two side sections and secure with a rubber band at the bottom. You will want your braids to be loose.

After you have all three braids completed, take your bobby pins, roll the center braid into a low bun, and pin to the head. It will take several bobby pins for each bun. It is best to cross your bobby pins so it causes them not to slip out of the hair.

Next, do the same with the remaining two braids.

You should now have a pretty braided bun up-do. Spray the up-do with hairspray and you're done.

If you have problems do not worry practice makes perfect and you can vary this to some degree and it will still look chic.
