How to Create Vision Boards

Are you living the life you always wanted? Do you have goals that you want to achieve or dreams that you want to pursue? If you're interested in creating the life of your dreams, you should consider adding vision boards to your list of tools. Here's a look at how to create vision boards so that you can have a visual reminder of what you want to accomplish:

List Your Goals

Do you know what your goals are? Before you start creating your board, pause to reflect on what you really want to accomplish. Do you want to drop a few pounds? Are you looking to change careers? Do you want to buy your first house? No matter what your goals are, write them all down. You'll need this for when you start creating your board. Keep in mind that you can create one large vision board or make one board per goal. There is no right or wrong way to do this.

Collect Pictures

Once you decide which goals you will focus on for your vision board, your not step is to collect pictures. Your best bet is to have a large pile of old magazine on hand and simply cut out any images that speak to you. Don't think too much at this stage. You're simply finding images that you really like and setting the aside.

Arrange the Images

Sift through the pile and select the images you want to place on your board. Spend some time moving the pictures around, finding new pictures, etc. The idea is to keep thinking about the goals that you want to accomplish while making your selections and creating the design of your board. The goal is to just make fast decisions and not overthink during the process. Your goal is to move quickly and trust your instincts so that your subconscious mind can speak to you. Once you're happy with your design, you can glue the images down.

Write in Your Journal

You might want to spend some time writing in your journal about the process. Take a few notes about what your goals are, what you were thinking while creating the vision board, and also how the board makes you feel. After you're done journaling, consider hanging the board so that you can view it daily.

Vision boards are not only a good tool that you can use to help you achieve your goals, they are also fun to make! It is a good idea to make at least one board for every goal you have and at least one for your life as a whole.
