This book is an excellent reference book to keep and to look at whenever you want information on any type of parrot kept in aviculture. Every bird had a good clear picture and a description giving length & weight as well as origin and status. She describes the appearance of the immature of each species, indicates clutch size, incubation time & fledging time if you are interested in breeding.
Rosemary has a great way of indicating plenty of information about accommodation, & diet that explains a lot without making the book 3 times its size. In the beginning of the book, she explains 14 diet varieties (some with sub categories) and assigns a number to each one. She does the same for accommodations with 12 sections and for each bird, she just indicates the number or numbers to explain diet & accommodation. This means that you will have to flip back to the beginning of the book, but this also means that the same information is not repeated 220 times throughout the book.
Each species is listed under the common name, as well as the scientific name and also gives the German and Dutch common names.
I have no hesitation in recommending this book to any bird lover.
The only problem might be in finding this book, but when I last checked Amazon.com, there were some new & used -
