Easter Bunny Cake Recipe

Ingredients:

• 1 box of cake mix (any flavor will do)

• 1 container of frosting

• 1 bag of coconut

• 1 bag of Twizzlers candy

• Green food coloring

• 2 round cake pans

Directions:

1. Prepare cake batter according to package directions.

2. Pour the batter into two round cake pans, and bake accordingly.

3. After the cake has baked and cooled completely, remove one of the cakes to the middle of a cookie sheet. This cake will be the bunny’s face. Be
sure to leave enough room to place bunny ears at the top of the cake.

4. Spread frosting over the top and sides of the cake.

5. The second cake will be used to create bunny ears. Cut out bunny ears in the shape of an oval or a tear drop. Carefully place the bunny ears on the top of the bunny face. Spread frosting over the tops and sides of the ears.

6. If you have leftover cake after the make the ears, you can cut out several Easter egg shapes, and then decorate. You can also cut out a piece of cake in the shape of a bow tie, and place it at the bottom of the cake.

7. Once you have placed the bunny ears (and any other accessories), it’s time to decorate!

8. Sprinkle the coconut over the bunny face and ears. If you’d like a different color face, simply mix a drop or two of desired food coloring with the coconut before sprinkling on the cake.

9. Thinly slice some of the Twizzlers to use for whiskers. The Twizzlers can also be used for the mouth, nose, and eyes. Simply cut and mold it to the shape that you desire (Or you can purchase them in bite size pieces).

10. Jelly beans, or any other type of candy that you have on hand will work out great for decorating.

11. Mix one cup of coconut with two drops of food coloring, adding more of each until the desired shade of green (for the grass) is reached.

12. Sprinkle the green colored coconut over any areas where you can still see the cookie sheet. This will really make the bunny cake stand out.
