The main menu on the first four discs allows you to play the disc, set up your options for viewing, and scene selection. The menu on the fifth disc includes those options, but adds in a choice for special features. In the Disc Set-Up menu, you can choose between the Japanese and English language tracks, as well as choose whether or not you want to see the subtitles.Disc five contains five special features. The first is labeled in the menu as "special footage"; it turns out that this is an "Inuyasha Super Special." From watching the special, it appears that it's a recap of the major events that took place in the first season of the series. I would assume that it aired in Japan before the start of the second season.
Next is a section labeled "Character Introductions." The interface is similar to the character relationship guide that appears on the first season box set, but the only characters included here are the ones introduced during the second season: Koga, Ginte/Hakkaku, Rin, Totosai, Kagura, Kaijinbo, Kanna, Kohaku, Mushin, and Onigumo.
Next is a movie trailer for Inuyasha the Movie: The Castle Beyond the Looking Glass (which is also included with the trailers that appear at the start of each disc, so it doesn't make sense to also include it as a special feature). There are also textless versions of the new opening and closing credits. Personally, I think the opening theme song for the second season is weaker than the opening theme song for the first season. Also, I thought the ending credits song for the second season is better than the opening theme for the second season.
Unlike the first season box set, where the trailers were only included on the first disc of the set, the trailers were included at the beginning of all the discs in the second season box set. Personally, I found this to be rather obnoxious.
When it comes to the episodes that appear in this box set, I thought that the second season really advanced the characters from where the first season left off, especially when it comes to Inuyasha. The set is definitely worth it for the episodes alone. The special features aren't great, but they are decent. I would definitely recommend purchasing the box set if you are a fan of Inuyasha.
