The Fifteen Card Spread

The Fifteen Card Spread is one of the easiest and most versatile spreads to use in a reading. It basically is five Three Card Spreads placed in a particular sequence. You can use part of the deck or all of the deck.

First, shuffle the deck and place it into three piles. Pick up the piles in whatever order feels intuitively right for you. Then pick the top three cards from the deck and place them in the center position. This position represents the question or the concern.

The next three cards will go in the upper left position. These cards represent the foundation or past that has influenced what is happening now.

The next three cards will go in the upper right position. These cards represent the situation as it is happening in the present.

The next three cards will go in the lower left position. These cards represent the near future. Always remember the future is not set in stone. These cards and the next three can only predict what COULD happen based upon current events.

The last three cards go in the lower right position. They represent the future, in terms of probability. In other words, if nothing changes then this will be the probable outcome to the question or concern.

Now comes the fun part!! Let's do a sample reading using just the Major Arcana cards. The first three cards can be read like a traditional Three Card Spread. I like to use body, mind and spirit.

The three cards in the middle row, from left to right are the Hermit, the High Priestess, and the Chariot. Your body is telling you to get out and get some exercise. Your mind is telling you to start following your dreams and visions of how you want to be on a physical level and your spirit is telling you to come up with a routine and stick to it!!

The three cards in the upper left position from left to right are the Tower, the Devil, and the Wheel of Fortune. Your body is telling you that in the past you had some major health issues which may have prevented you from being as active as you would have liked to be. Your mind is telling you that even after the situation was resolved, your fear kept you from resuming a good exercise routine. Your spirit is telling you that what happened was a one time event and you don't have to worry about it happening to you again.

The three cards in the upper right position from left to right are the Empress, Strength, and Temperance. Your body is telling you that you need to nurture yourself and take better care of yourself. Your mind is telling you that you are a strong and vital person. You need to start to believe in yourself a lot more than you do. Your spirit is telling you to have patience with yourself. Rome wasn't built in a day and rebuilding your body and spirit is going to take time too.

The three cards in the lower left position are the Emperor, the Star, and the Moon. Your body is telling you that in time you will develop the self discipline you need to keep going in an exercise routine. Your mind is telling you that it will take some time, but you will soon begin to see minor improvements taking shape, and your spirit is telling you that improving your body isn't the only task at hand. Meditation, yoga, or some type of daily exercise to allow your spirit to heal is necessary as well.

The three cards in the lower right position are the Fool, Justice, and the World. Your body is telling you that if you stick to your routine, in a year or so you will find yourself on a whole new journey in a fit and healthy body. Your mind is telling you that you have forgiven yourself and others for any condition that may have caused you pain in the past. And, your Spirit is telling you that you have achieved the outcome you desired.

You can see how much information this spread can provide. It takes a little practice, but the result is more than worth the effort involved!
