- Make 3 strips of hairpin lace with 100 loops on each side of loom. Fasten off and remove from the loom.
4 inch strip (Make 2 in Pink Boo – pastel pink)
- Adjust loom to make 4” strips. With pink yarn, following instructions below for making hairpin lace or follow the link below to the step by step tutorial for making hairpin lace.
- Make 2 strips of hairpin lace with 100 loops on each side of loom. Fasten off and remove from the loom.
Join:
- Lay out and evenly align the lace strips alternating white and pink strips. You can lay them vertically or horizontally and you can join left to right or vice versa. Whatever feels comfortable to you.
- Join the first two strips by inserting your hook into the first loop of one strip. Grab the first loop of the second strip to be joined and pull it through the loop on the hook. Then grab the next loop on the first strip and pull it through. Continue on in this fashion until you reach the end of the two strips.
- Fasten off by sewing the last loop on the hook into the end of the strip.
- Join the rest of the strips in the same way, but start the next joining on the opposite color first so that your work doesn't become distorted. Ex: If you started with the white loop when joining the first two strips, then start with the pink loop first when joining the next strip.
- Add fringe to the ends of the scarf. The fringe on this project are 4 inches long, but you can make them as long as you desire.
