Valentine's Day

For some people living in Los Angeles, Valentine’s Day is the day for romance and love. For others, it’s the most loathed day of the year. Here are a few movie mistakes to look for while watching “Valentine’s Day”.

∙ Reed and Julia are talking Valentine’s morning and he’s telling her that Morley said “yes”. Julia’s hands are empty. When Reed comes around the counter and says “call me Mr. Engaged,” Julia’s right hand can be seen and it’s still empty. It cuts to a front view of Julia when she hugs him and she’s now holding a muffin in her right hand.

∙ When the lady tries to put the baby on the counter, she puts her purse on the counter and both purse straps are off of her shoulders. It cuts to a front view of Nikki when she says “she should be off the counter” and the ladies purse strap is back on her left shoulder.

∙ Paula Thomas, Sean Jackson and Kara Monahan are having a lunch meeting. In the view of the table from over Paula’s left side, when she says “I spoke with the…,” the coffee cup handles on the two cups are facing away from her. The scene cuts to another view when Sean says “Passed?” and the handle of the cup in front of Paula is now facing toward her.

∙ Kelvin Moore bursts into Kara’s office. When she’s sitting down at her desk and asks if she’s the only one alone on Valentine’s Day, the view of her desk from over her left shoulder, shows there’s nothing on the top of her closed laptop computer. It cuts to a front view of her and there are now M&Ms/Skittles on top. When she gets up, the candies are gone.

∙ When Grace is sitting at the table talking to Edgar and Estelle, her phone is sitting on the table next to her left hand. But when it rings a few seconds later, she pulls it out of her pocket.

∙ Alphonso and his wife are swinging on the swing set. The view of their wine glasses on the table next to the swings shows that the wine is red. A few moments later, when they’re sitting at the table and drinking their wine, the wine is white.

∙ CAUTION: May Contain Spoilers! Near the end of the movie, in the front view of Reed and Julia, when he’s talking about how he used to put the roses together to make new designs, Reed is leaning over with his arms across the railing in front of him. The scene cuts to a left side view and Reed is standing upright and his arms aren’t touching the railing. He’s leaning against the railing again when they kiss.

“Valentine’s Day” (2010) stars Jessica Alba, Kathy Bates, Jessica Biel, Bradley Cooper, Eric Dane, Patrick Dempsey, Hector Elizondo, Jamie Foxx, Jennifer Garner, Topher Grace, Anne Hathaway, Ashton Kutcher, Queen Latifah, Taylor Lautner, George Lopez, Shirley MacLaine, Emma Roberts, Julia Roberts, and Taylor Swift. It runs 125 minutes and is rated PG-13 for some sexual material and brief partial nudity.
