Simple Natural Room Spray Recipe

Room sprays are useful to have on hand because they can help your home smell fresh. The problem is, there are so many choices on the market, it can be hard to choose the best one. Unfortunately, commercial room sprays are often loaded with chemicals and synthetic ingredients.

In order to solve this problem, you should consider making your own room sprays. These sprays contain all natural ingredients. The scents are creating using essential oils. Each time you make this recipe, feel free to use different oils so that you can change the way it smells. Be sure to use 100% pure and natural essential oils from a trusted source so that you can be sure that all the ingredients you use are natural.

Natural Room Spray Recipe Ingredients:



  • 1 ounce distilled water

  • 2 ounces 80 or 100 proof clear alcohol, such as Vodka or Everclear

  • 30 drops of 100% pure essential oil of choice


  • How to Make Natural Room Spray:



    This recipe is designed to fit into a 4 ounce spray bottle. Be sure to clean and sterilize the spray bottle properly before you get started.

    Pour the water and alcohol into the spray bottle. Cover tightly and shake vigorously.

    Drop the essential oil into the spray bottle. Cover the bottle again and shake well. Spray into the room as needed. Be sure to shake the bottle well before spraying.

    Choosing the Right Essential Oils for the Room Spray



    When making this room spray, you can basically choose any essential oil (or oils) that you desire. Much of it depends on your own personal preferences. There are also some specific reasons why you might choose some oils over the others. Here are some ideas:

  • Lavender.Relaxing, calming, and cleansing.

  • Eucalyptus.Cleansing, energizing, good for respiratory system.

  • Peppermint.Cleansing, energizing.

  • Vanilla.Calming, comforting, mild sedative.

  • Rose.Calming, relaxing.

  • Grapefruit.Uplifting, energizing, cleansing.


  • Feel free to use any essential oils that you desire. These are just some ideas. Also, feel free to blend any of the oils you see fit. For example, lavender and vanilla blend very well together. There are also plenty more essential oils than what's listed here.
