Vietnam Foods - Banh Chay

A great dish to try while traveling in Vietnam is banh chay. Banh chay is served in all provinces in Vietnam. Banh chay are dumplings with a light syrup thickened with tapioca flour.

Banh chay is made with sticky rice and regular rice. A sweet, green bean paste is in the center of the dumpling. The white dumplings are boiled. Once they float to the top they are done. They are cooled and served in a bowl with the special syrup.
