2010 Chevrolet Camaro

American car companies are on life support. The global economic recession has hit Detroit hard and put the survival of part of the fabric of America in doubt.

Beginning in March 2009 though, there may be some relief by way of some old friends. American muscle cars are back and seemingly better than ever.
The big three: Camaro, Challenger, and Mustang have been redesigned and retooled and should make almost any muscle car enthusiast happy.

The new 2010 Chevrolet Camaro is a welcome sight after being on hiatus since 2002. Taking its design from the 1969 model, the 2010 Camaro is a muscle car dream.

Finally beginning to appear where it should, in Chevrolet dealerships and onto a highway near you, the long anticipated (3 years since sneak peaks of its inception) car was worth the wait.

Although its design must bring back great memories for teeny bobbing baby boomers, it's also cool enough to bring in a new generation of sports car enthusiast. The finely sculpted sleek lines on the outside are just as visible inside and the somewhat confined front quarters give you the feeling that you're almost part of the car!

Offered in 2 versions, a base 3.6L V-6 with 304 horsepower, and the upgraded SS version, with a 6.2L V-8 supposedly the same as the Corvette's. The SS boasts 426 horsepower with a manual transmission and 400 horsepower with an automatic. Oh, and a convertible will be available within 2 years if you can wait that long.

One of the best features of this terrific car is the price! At just over $22,000 on the base model, you can't go wrong. Comparable 2010 Mustang's will be priced at least $3,000 more. The top of the line V8 SS will cost around $36,000.

For the real Camaro throwbacks, you can order an Inferno Orange Interior Accent Trim Package.
That will include black interior with Inferno Orange front leather-appointed seats, accent stitching on the steering wheel, shift knob, door armrest, center console and seats. Inferno Orange door trim and instrument panel appliqué. It will also include SS embroidery. Of course, all of this requires one to order the exterior Inferno Orange. Radar detectors are not included so smoky will certainly be watching.
